My favorite time of year will soon be just around the corner. You guessed it Christmas time, and with Christmas time comes Holiday Shopping. I live in Chicago so around Christmas time there’s snow on the ground and the scenery around town is such a sight. So with Christmas just around the corner here are some great Christmas Shopping Tips.

Christmas Shopping Tips

• Always start early- The new date to actually start Christmas Shopping was November 3. Most people begin holiday shopping the day after Thanksgiving, which is why it is always crowded. Avoid the rush and get a head start this year. Many companies actually had sales yesterday (November 3) to get consumers shopping earlier. Some even called it the new black Friday( day after thanksgiving).
  
• Know what to buy- It might be kinda late for this tip but always know what to purchase for each person before heading to the stores. If you like surprising people listen throughout the year at things they might want for Christmas and surprise them with it. I know everyone is busy during this time of year by try circling things that you might want to purchase . This cuts down on over spending.
• Gift Cards- This might sound a little impersonal but gift cards are a great way to go if you don’t know what to purchase a person. Especially for teenagers. Always get one from that person’s favorite store and they will be sure to buy something they love. You can never go wrong with gift cards.
  
• Make Christmas Shopping fun, go with a friend, wear your favorite holiday themed shirt or sweater and relax. Shopping for other people should be fun . Sit down purchase some holiday themed hot chocolate or coffee and people watch. Sometimes it just nice to people watch or look at the holiday decorations displayed around the mall.
• Most importantly if you hate Christmas Shopping don’t be afraid to purchase items online. Gift Baskets, clothes, there are so many places these days that will allow you to purchase the present on line and get it shipped out way before Christmas, and in some cases the day before.
