“Smokey Eye Tips”

1. Always start your smokey eyes or any eye makeup by applying foundation first. This helps prevent the racoon effect.

2. Next you want to begin with a sheer nude color all over your eye. Always pick a color closest to your natural shade, and begin putting the color all over from your lid to your brow bone.

3. Then you are going to apply either a plum or dark brown eyeshadow from your lid to your crease. (PLUM WORKS BEST ON LIGHTER COMPLEXIONS). Try to use a cream shadow since it smudges easier than powder. You can apply the color with your fingers or a makeup brush.

5. After that you’re going to line your entire eye with either a plum or dark color depending on your complexion. Darker complexions work very well with black and brown while lighter skin works better with plum. It all depends on how much attention you want with your smokey eye look. Line your eyes with the pencil color of your choice. For even more of a dramatic effect don’t forget to line your inner rims of you eye.

5. To really open your eyes use your eye curler to curl you eyelashes. To create even more of a curl blast the curler with the blow dryer for a few seconds, and then curl your lashes. Next use two to three coats of mascara.

6. For more sparkle add a silver shadow to the inner corners of your eyes.

Makeup tips to stop raccoon eyes

1. Always use a tissue folded in half right below your eye to catch any shadow that falls.

2. Use white translucent powder below the eyes and dust off after applying your eye makeup. This will also help catch any fallen shadow.

3. When you’re done applying your eye makeup use a concealer brush to clean up any. Take your brush and dab some foundation of loose powder under your eyes.

Each month I like to give my readers some beauty tips to help keep them looking beautiful and radiant for the month. A Mask to give you radiant glowing skin, A hair treatment for shiny beautiful hair, and a smoothie recipe to keep your body healthy so your beauty shines through. “November Facial of the Month To Try”
Banana Supreme Facial will be requiring two medium- sized bananas and honey albeit, it is only optional because you may find it very sticky. Crush the bananas with a fork but be careful in doing so because it may end being too gooey. If you desire, put honey by all means. Pat the finished creation to your principal coat and leave it for ten minutes. Afterwards, use cool water when rinsing.

“November Hair Tip”

Egg shampoo at home requires 1 egg, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon castile soap, 1/2 a cup water or herbal tea and last but not the least 5 drops of essential oils of your choice. Blend all these together to make a shampoo which can bring shine to your hair.

(A special healthy treat)

“Pink Lady Smoothie”

1/2 cup orange juice

1 cup ice cubes or crushed ice

1 cup plain yogurt or vanilla yogurt or strawberry yogurt

1 cup fresh strawberries

Pour ingredients into blender until smooth. Serves two so share with your best girlfriend and be sure to put whipped cream and a strawberry on top for some added sweetness. We all enjoy a treat every now and then.

“Women of Color Makeup Tips”

Most often women of color meaning anyone with a tan-to dark complexions end up getting bad advice in the makeup department. Being a women of color and shopping for great makeup products can be a very hard and long process but follow these tips to get a flawless complexion.

Titiaum Dioxide

The number 1 problem with finding a good shade that matches your complexion is because of Titanium dioxide. Titanium is a great source of getting SPF in your makeup or face creams, but it can make women of color appear to have an ashy tone to their complexion. Many makeup companies put Titanium dioxide in their makeup lines which makes makeup when applied to the face appear ashy and dry in color. The best way to advoid this problem is to look for makeup lines that don’t contain Titanium dioxide. Also make sure that before applying your makeup that you are not using moisturizers that contain Titanium dioxide because this too can make your skin appear ashy. (if the product says may contain purchase these over the ones that use it as a main ingredient)

Finding the right Foundation for your complexion

Most women of color including Indian, Hispanics and African Americans have a yellow based tone to their skin. So always choose a foundation that has a yellow hue, not every women of color is like that so make sure you choose what is best for your complexion. Many makeup lines are realizing that women either have red or yellow hues. After washing your face wait 10-15 minutes before applying any toners or moisturizers. Then look in the mirror and you should see either red or yellow tones to your complexion. Which ever color stands out more is the foundation hue you should choose. Make sure there is no Titanium dioxide. Many makeup lines now have colors for women of color but be aware some of them maybe have Titanium dioxide. I hate to say this but Iman Titanium dioxide uses in her products. This includes product such as blushes and powders as well.

“October Beauty Tips”

October is a great month, so let’s get started with this month’s monthly beauty tips for October. So sit back relax, drink some tea, coffee and be sure to share these beauty tips and secrets with your very best girlfriend.

This Month’s Hair Tip

Every now and then use items around the house to make yourself some home made shampoo. It’s better and healthier for your hair, plus they don’t contain any harsh chemicals, so u don’t have to worry about hair damage. If you want to add more volume to your hair, use conditioner on your hair before you wash it, and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Then take your hair dryer, and move it over your hair for some heat. By doing this you are giving your hair a deep conditioner, which keeps your hair healthy, shinny, and it will help it grow.

Protein Shampoo

• 4 quarts bottle water
• 2 slightly beaten eggs
• 1 tsp of your favorite perfume or scent
• 1 bar baby soap shaved
• 1 tsp powdered borax

Home-Made Mask of the Month

Masks are an excellent way to brighten your skin, smooth your skin, as well as tighten your pores. For good skincare habits try using a mask at least once a week. You will love the results.

Sweet Strawberry Facial will be requiring 8-9 compact strawberries and 3 tablespoons of honey. The first step is to mash the strawberries with a fork until it appears to be a pulp concentration. 1 shot combined of raspberry and vanilla syrup
Shake and Pour

Orange Crème

1 peppermint tea bag
5 orange spice tea bags
1 cup of boiling water
1 ½ cup of orange juice
2 cups tablespoons of honey
1 vanilla ice milk
1 cup of ice

Brew all of the teas bags in boiling water, and then let it cool. Next pour it into blender adding the honey, ice, and juice. Mix all in blender until smooth. Then serve.

This season’s America’s Next Top Model is starting off pretty well, and I can definitely see some new talent. Before I get into This season cycle 9 I just want to talk Tyra . I must say that I love her hairstyle for this fall 2007. The reason why this hairstyle works for her is because she has a very oval face shape, with a larger forehead. straight across bangs really play up her other great features, like her cheeks. This hairstyle looks perfect on Ciara who also has an oval face shape. The good thing about having an oval face shape is that it allows you to wear almost ever hairstyle. So if you do have an Oval face shape, consider yourself blessed. Ciara’s haircut is great for two reason, it fits her face shape, and short hair is in for fall 2007. This particular haircut is actually a asymmetrical bob parted on the side. I also love the highlights in her hair because they are soft colors that blend in so well together. Fall 2007 hair colors are all about soft colors blending together so that it looks natural.

Let me just start by talking about the controversial surrounding models and smoking. It has been said that one of the main ways models stay so thin is by smoking cigarettes. So this week in the photos the girls were asked to pretend they were these type of models who smoke to stay thin. Tyra is all about making sure that the models on her show are seen as good role models for younger girls or younger model. So many girls these days want to become models, and modeling has so much controversy around it. So young girls need good role models if they are truly looking to become models. Which is why Tyra banned smoking from Amercia’s Next Top Model. Which only leads me to believe that later on in Cycle 9 we will see drama from some girls who have to give up smoking. Smoking can be a very hard thing to give up.

“2007 FALL MAKEUP TRENDS”There were many different looks that were rocked this year on the runway. So here’s a few “makeup trends for the fall 2007.”

Glam- the old Hollywood’s look if a big hit for “Fall of 2007″. The biggest trends feature red lipstick, cat eyes and soft 40’s style waves (read about it in “2007 fall hairstyles”).

Lipstick- Its been a while but lipstick is finally making a comeback. For a while it was all about lipgloss, but now it’s lipstick’s turn. Most lipstick’s now contain sparkles, and vitamin’s that give you soft kissable lips. Red is the hottest shade of lipstick right now, and it looks good on almost everyone. So make sure you have a shade of red lipstick for fall 2007. Use a nude lip liner to line the lips, and then use a lip brush to paint the red lipstick on top.

Cat Eyes- Very sexy cat eyes are in this season use a angled black liner, or purple liner if you’re fair . Take a taupe shadow across the brow bone and add some mascara for length.

Bold Brows- Bold brows are simply thick bows, meaning the penciled in, very thin brows are not longer sexy. Right now makeup overall is all about looking natural and light, so with that brows are standing out more. So ladies when it comes to brows this season remember that less is more when it comes to tweezing. if you have thin brows you can always fill them in, but don’t over do it. Eyeliners- good eye liners are liquids, pots, and pencils.

1. liquids- pointed brushes give your prime precisions.
2. pots- good for smoky eye smudges.
3. pencils- glide on easily.

Lashes- are very in this season, so play them up with multiple coats, and maybe some fake lashes. If you go with fake choose some that look natural. HOW TO PUT ON FAKE LASHES

DRAMATIC EYES- PLAYING UP YOUR EYES IS VERY BIG FOR THE FALL. Big Dramatic Lashes are big this fall 2007 season. To add more volume to your lashes play them with with fake lashes, or try a curler. To get the best results with curler try boosting the curl by blasting it with a few seconds with hot air from your hair dryer before using. Then dot a black pencil along your lash lines to get spare spaces. Lastly take your mascara and avoid clumps by wiping the wand with a tissue to remove excess color.

Make sure that if you play up your eyes, you use nude colors for lipstick and keep your eyebrows waxed and trim. Because all focus will be on your eyes. For Smokey eyes take two dark shades and blend the two together. Always use a smudge brush for a full effect. Line the inner rims and shine corners and brow bones with a lighter shadow. Such as silver.
